CRAFT BREWING FOR GOOD CAUSES
- My guests today are Sally Broadaway and brewmaster Andrew Whitney, co-owners of Good Cause Brewing. Good Cause Brewing creates high-quality beverages for good causes. They believe that craft beer is about community and has the ability to be an agent of change. They currently brew out of the Cape Brewing Company in Jenks and started this year with three of their own beers.
WHAT WE DISCUSS
- Andrew, Sally, and I discuss their backgrounds and how they got started in the brewing industry. Although he’s always been a beer nerd, Andrew has an extensive background in the automotive field. We discuss the learning curve of beginning to brew and what it takes to get started. You’ll hear about Sally’s background in retail and the non-profit sector and how she created and implemented a non-profit organization for bicycle advocacy which included teaching women how to ride safely. They also share how they were inspired by the low-profit business model of Lady Justice brewing in Colorado. At the end, we discuss how Good Cause brewing was tasked to create a special brew created just for Goff Fest, in honor of the late Tulsa architect Bruce Goff.
