- My guest today is Randy Krehbiel. A native Oklahoman and a graduate of Oklahoma State University, Randy has been a reporter for the Tulsa World since the early eighties. His writing interests include government, sports, and politics. Randy has written several books including his most recent, Tulsa 1921: Reporting a Massacre. In addition, he has received multiple awards throughout his career including the Oklahoma nonfiction book of the year.
WHAT WE DISCUSS
- Randy and I discuss his background and lifelong love for history and writing. He began his journalism career in sports writing, and later covered events such as the Oklahoma bombing and the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. You’ll hear us discuss the history of media, the difference between bias and partisan, and the history of the “Oil Capital of the World.” At the end, we discuss the 1921 Greenwood Tulsa Massacre, the aftermath, and how it changed Tulsa.
