CODING FOR KIDS

• My guest today is Prakash Subramaniam of Code Ninjas. Code Ninjas is a center where kids learn to code while building their own video games. They gain problem solving, critical thinking, and STEM skills in a fun, safe, and inspiring environment. Using a self-paced, game-based curriculum, Ninjas (kids) will learn JavaScript, Lua, C# and more. They offer weekly classes, camps, parties, and parents night outs for kids ages 5 and up. 

WHAT WE DISCUSS

• Prakash and I discuss what it was like growing up in Malaysia, and how his father greatly influenced him in the world of education. We discuss his background in finance and accounting, and how he grew up around entrepreneurial-minded people. You’ll hear his passion for STEM education for kids and how Code Ninjas is playing a valuable role in filling gaps in the education system and making an impact in the community. You’ll hear how the unique curriculum is flexible, customizable, and the special language and style they use to ensure learning is fun. Last, he shares his goals for improving the education system locally and making Oklahoma one of the leaders in STEM education.
